Homework English A week 9

“I had to get over this irrational feeling that Jacob belonged in my life. He couldn’t belong with me, could not be my Jacob, when I belonged to someone else.”
“Jacob was right. He’d been right all along. He was more than just my friend. That’s why it was so impossible to tell him goodbye — because I was in love with him. Too. I loved him, much more than I should, and yet, still nowhere near enough. I was in love with him, but it was not enough to change anything; it was only enough to hurt us both more. To hurt him worse than I ever had.”
By reading these quotes you pretty much understand the subplot right away. Bella Clearly has problems balancing her relationship with Edward and with Jacob. Even though Bella and Edward are truly in love she has feelings for Jacob. This you notice all the way through the book but when you read this, and it’s almost like she admits it to herself. Then it gets sort of official. I think that this has been the subplot in all of the books, almost like a red wire holding the books together a little better.
I think the author brought this in to the book making it more exiting. It’s like you really want to know if Bella’s going to stay with Edward or if she decides to be with Jacob. I also think it’s because of what I mentioned earlier. It connects the books better, holding them together.
Homework English A week 8

The environment in the book isn’t described very well. I couldn’t find even one quote that says something about it .I think it’s because it’s the third book and by reading the first two you have already got the picture of how it looks. But from what I know it looks something like this. The book takes place in the town Forks outside Washington. With around one thousand locals it may seem like the typical American small town. But in the rainy overcast environment the “monsters” are hiding. Forks is surrounded by forest and mountains this and the always grey weather make this town the perfect hideout for all the vampires and werewolves.
Bella and her father Charlie’s house lies in the woods near the centre of Forks while Edward and his family lives in a big house in the outskirts of town. Bella’s best friend Jacob Black lives with the others in the Quileute tribe in a reservation near the beach “La push” that’s surrounded by high cliffs.
I hope this makes sense and that it makes you understand at least a little of what I think the environment in the book looks like.
Homework 11/2

I'm reading the third book in the Twilight book series called Eclipse made by Stephenie Meier. The book’s main themes are action and romance. There are two main characters in the book. The one most in centre is Bella, Edwards’s fiancée. She is madly in love with Edwards who’s a vampire. Maybe not the smartest thing to be but I really get the sense that they are perfect for each other. Bella is a pretty normal girl except for being engaged to a vampire. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. The one thing that makes her different from other humans is that vampires can’t use their so called “gifts” on her. Some vampires have special gifts. Edward can read peoples’ minds and his sister Alice can see into the future. And here is where Bella is different. She has something like a shield that works against these gifts and makes it impossible for the vampires to use their gifts on here. Bella’s biggest wish is to be turned in to a vampire so that she and Edward can be together forever.
Edward is Bella’s fiancé and is a vampire. He lives with his family in a house in the woods just outside Forks, Bella’s hometown. He and his family are so called vegetarians and don’t drink human blood. That’s probably what makes them so different from other vampires. Edward is described as an incredibly good looking guy. He has quite long brown hair and almost golden eyes. All vampires have bodies so strong that they could be made out stone or maybe marble and their skin is pail white. Their skin shines like diamonds when sun hits them. Edward has what only he and a few more vampires have a so called gift. He can read peoples mind.
Since I already have read the first two books I can’t really remember my first impression of Bella and Edward. Although just by reading the book you get like a crush on Edward not only because he’s so good looking, he seems to be really romantic too.
